Write for us
We welcome pitches and contributions that help readers see Western films more clearly: specific, well-supported pieces about genre, history, landscape, characters or screen myths.
What makes a strong pitch
Name the film, convention or question you want to explore, then state the main idea in a few sentences. Explain why it suits Western Film Spotlight, what evidence or examples you would use and what a reader would understand afterward. Keep the scope focused enough for one article.
What we are looking for
We value clear analysis, careful context and original angles that do not rely on plot recap alone. A useful pitch can compare screen choices, examine a genre convention or explain how a particular film frames its version of the West. Distinguish sourced facts from your own interpretation.
How to send a proposal
Send pitches and proposed contributions through the Contact page, selecting the editorial question option and including a short summary. Unrequested full drafts are not necessary. We cannot promise a response time or publication, and submission does not guarantee acceptance.
